We were pleased to hold our 94th Annual AGM and Networking Event at the American Museum and Gardens on Thursday 26 June 2025. At the AGM we were pleased to launch the Kathy Callow Legacy fund, but sad to say goodbye to some dedicated trustees. With new appointments to the board, we are looking forward to our future.
We said goodbye to our brilliant outgoing Chair Kristina Broughton. Kristina has led the South West Fed over the last 3 years with vision, clarity and true commitment. She leaves the organisation in a much stronger position, with an experienced and dedicated Board and an excellent support network of sector peers across the region. Thank you Kristina for your hard work and clear sight!
We also welcomed Iona Keen as our new Chair. Iona has been a trustee since 2018 and stepped into the role of Vice-Chair 3 years ago, shaping the creative programme of online talks and in-person events. She will continue the good work Kristina set in place and lead the board towards the South West Fed’s centenary. Miranda Garrett stepped into the role of Vice-Chair, leading the creative programme of in-person events and online talks. Over the past 2 years Miranda has been a dynamic and creative member of the board, proposing and organising a host of topical and engaging events.
Two important trustee roles were also filled at the AGM. Matthew Cock was appointed as Treasurer and Jess Trethowan as Communications Secretary. Both Matthew and Jess bring with them years of experience working the museums, heritage and charity sectors. We’re very pleased to welcome them on board!
