Looking for professional development?
Keen to offer your skills and experience to the sector? Wanting to network and build new professional relationships? The South West Fed has a number of board roles that you can join by putting forward a nomination each year, and right now we are looking to co-opt board members.
Our current board has knowledge covering areas of interpretation, diversity & inclusion, wellbeing & the arts, museum ethics, collections, archaeology, managing change, curation, collection management, documentation, exhibitions, world heritage, local history, using archives for outreach, outdoor & rural heritage, learning, access, young people and employability skills and we are looking to strengthen these and broaden our collective knowledge.
Our board is entirely volunteer run and made up of the following roles:

- Chair (download role profile): The current post holder is in place and detailed training and shadowing will be provided.

- Social Media Officer (download role profile): This is a new role to support the Communications and Membership Secretaries.
- We are always looking for more Creative Programme Officers to broaden the themes of our programme (download role profile)

Please complete the application form below to express an interest in becoming a Trustee of the South West Fed and joining the Board. Informal interviews with at least two members of the Board will be held. Successful applicants wishing to proceed will be asked to complete a nomination form. This form requires two South West Fed members to support your involvement in joining the Board and if you do not know any members, the current board can help. Following this, the Board can co-opt Trustees prior to the following Annual General Meeting (AGM). At the AGM, members will be provided with a list of those standing and nominees are formally voted onto the board with a yes/no member vote.
