Christmas at Tyntesfield
Join us for a special SWFed Christmas social event – a fantastic opportunity to meet sector colleagues in the beautiful setting of Tyntesfield, near Bristol.
This special time of year gets off to a magical start as you step back into Christmas past at Tyntesfield. Wrap up warm and wear suitable footwear!
You will have the opportunity to experience Christmas at Tyntesfield on a private tour of the house with Property Curator, Miranda Garrett. Miranda will take one group around the house while another group go on a backstage tour focusing on collections care. The groups will then swap over so that everyone has the same experience. There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions and find out more about the work of the National Trust at Tyntesfield.
Miranda is a historian and curator specialising in the 19th century art, design and culture. She has 15 years of experience in the heritage sector, gained at the National Trust, Bank of England Museum, Society of Antiquaries of London, and Historic Royal Palaces.
The gardens will be scattered with handmade decorations made by our Christmas volunteer fairies and a grand Christmas tree outside the house. Wherever possible, the volunteers have used recycled items or elements from the estate.
The afternoon will end at 4.30pm with a complimentary festive drink in the Cow Barn and a chance to meet sector colleagues.
