Christmas at Saltram: Christmastime Ball
Join us for a special SWFed Christmas social event – a fantastic opportunity to meet sector colleagues in the beautiful setting of Saltram, near Plymouth.
The afternoon will start at 2pm – please meet in the Fennamore Room just inside Park Café at the Stables – with a festive mulled drink and an introductory talk from Property Curator, Zoë Shearman. Zoë will share Saltram’s role in the National Trust’s Treasure House Programme and the wider Future Saltram infrastructure Project with us. There will be a chance to ask questions and find out more.
Zoë is Property Curator of Saltram. She was previously a Regional Curator for parts of Devon and Cornwall and Contemporary Art Consultant with the National Trust. She has worked with a range of museums, galleries and arts organisations in South West England, London and internationally, and lectured on curatorial practice in Higher Education.
From 2.30pm, the talk will be followed by a visit to the house in small groups to experience the luxurious, Georgian-style Christmas ball. Saltram will once again be adorned with extravagant decorations, twinkling lights, and beautiful baubles to create the wonderful Christmas experience that National Trust visitors know and love. With new showrooms decorated and the collection highlighted for 2022, there will be festive moments behind every door with that well-known sprinkle of Saltram magic.
On arrival, please let the car park attendant know you are part of the SW Fed visit so your parking fee is waived.
Consult the National Trust website for ways of getting there: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/saltram#Howtogethere
